He is a Christian from the tribe of Yoruba, Osun State, Nigeria.

David Adedeji Adeleke is a singer, songwriter, music producer, record executive, and philanthropist by occupation. As a musician, he bears the stage name "Davido".

His father, Dr. Adedeji Adeleke, is a Nigerian billionaire and businessman; he founded the Adeleke University and is also the chairman of Pacific Holdings Limited.
